Harman/Kardon Receiver Service Manuals
10 November 2007UPDATE 5/22/2008: Harman Kardon have moved or blocked access to the service manuals from their own site. I’ve mirrored these manuals to my own server. PLEASE DO NOT HOT LINK TO THESE FILES FROM YOUR OWN SITE! If you wish to link to these files, please link to this blog entry. Otherwise, I’ll be forced to remove them because they’ll gobble up my server bandwidth. 
A while back I was looking the Service Manual for my Harman/Kardon AVR525 receiver since it was acting up and was out of warranty. While searching the internet I discovered that such a Service Manual does exist, but most of the websites that offered it wanted $10 or $20 for the privilege of downloading it. I thought to myself, there has to be another way!
I searched the internet some more and I actually stumbled across HarmanAudio.com which is Harman/Kardon’s direct sale site. I noticed on one of the old model receivers it actually had a link under “User Manual” for the Service Manual as well. I clicked on it and wouldn’t you know it, the service manual for that receiver was right in front of me. I took a look at how the URL was formatted and by putting two and two together I was able to get the Service Manual for darn near every Harman/Kardon Receiver made in the last ten years! 
So, I’m posting the links to all the Receivers I was able to think of in hopes that others who were in my situation will stumble across my little corner of the internet and find the information they were looking for. And it’s free!
All of these Service Manuals are in Adobe Acrobat format (PDF). So you will need Acrobat Reader to use them.

Once you get the information you need to make repairs to your Harman/Kardon Receiver, you can simply e-mail parts@harman.com and they’ll send you a quote on the parts with information on how to order.
I actually used the Service Manual for my old AVR7300 receiver. It stopped working on me and just wouldn’t power up. Luckily, these Service Manuals also have the schematics inside of them. After some probing around with my multimeter and a $2 trip to radio shack for some new fuses, the AVR7300 was back in perfect working order!

well done on your gathering of information its impressive although im getting an access denied when trying to download the avr635 manual. also when i last moved house i lost my remote and im wondering if u might know how i might go about replacing it… thankyou for your time… paul

Yeah, looks like they’re blocking access. I have a work around for it and I’ll have it up in a week.

Hi! Which of these is the closest to the AVR 507. My unit is faulty (no sound at speakers out or headphones, the second relay doesn’t “click”).
