UPDATE 5/22/2008: Harman Kardon have moved or blocked access to the service manuals from their own site. I’ve mirrored these manuals to my own server. PLEASE DO NOT HOT LINK TO THESE FILES FROM YOUR OWN SITE! If you wish to link to these files, please link to this blog entry. Otherwise, I’ll be forced to remove them because they’ll gobble up my server bandwidth.

A while back I was looking the Service Manual for my Harman/Kardon AVR525 receiver since it was acting up and was out of warranty. While searching the internet I discovered that such a Service Manual does exist, but most of the websites that offered it wanted $10 or $20 for the privilege of downloading it. I thought to myself, there has to be another way!

I searched the internet some more and I actually stumbled across HarmanAudio.com which is Harman/Kardon’s direct sale site. I noticed on one of the old model receivers it actually had a link under “User Manual” for the Service Manual as well. I clicked on it and wouldn’t you know it, the service manual for that receiver was right in front of me. I took a look at how the URL was formatted and by putting two and two together I was able to get the Service Manual for darn near every Harman/Kardon Receiver made in the last ten years!

So, I’m posting the links to all the Receivers I was able to think of in hopes that others who were in my situation will stumble across my little corner of the internet and find the information they were looking for. And it’s free!

All of these Service Manuals are in Adobe Acrobat format (PDF). So you will need Acrobat Reader to use them.

I actually used the Service Manual for my old AVR7300 receiver. It stopped working on me and just wouldn’t power up. Luckily, these Service Manuals also have the schematics inside of them. After some probing around with my multimeter and a $2 trip to radio shack for some new fuses, the AVR7300 was back in perfect working order!
